Battle 4:02 pm
Well just as I say our hopes remain optimistic… Mother Nature just isn’t having it as the rain continues its downpour. Renton has just stepped up to the mic to announce we have officially made the call to post-pone the event. It’s not happening today, but with cooperation of the weather the BATTLE WILL CONTINUE!!!
TBA… Stay tuned as we announce dates for the next Battle for Supremacy.
- Reporting live from the battle. Over and Out!
Battle 3:50 pm
With 19 of the 20 skaters signed in and ready to session, Mother Nature still remains to press her frown down on Darling Harbour. However… with smiles still on skater faces, hope remains extremely optimistic as skaters slowly begin to test out some the course obstacles as the rain subsides.
Battle 2:53 pm
Although conditions have let up, the course still remains under a fine mist of rain spitting in from the north. Fortunately, to the pleasure of the crowd it hasn’t stopped a couple of Skaters from testing course conditions…

Battle 2:29 pm – GUEST BLOG SUPERSTAR and BSF II Melbourne WINNER Bjorn Johnston (out with injury).
“I was totally looking forward to this (this second DEW comp). The course is greatly improved and its being held in my newly adopted home city of Sydney which is a bonus. Unfortunately I can’t skate as I had a SLAM a week ago that left me with my thumb broken in three places and two broken bones in my hand. I had surgery on my thumb only a few days ago, and with the fresh injury & stitches still in, its too risky to skate. I’m bummed, but I’m sure the next BATTLE I’ll be back to normal…”

Battle 1:50 pm
The crowds still amass, as loyal battle supporters wait to get a glimpse of some skate action.
Battle 1:12 pm
Standing room only… Mt Dew’s Battle room waiting area fills up… as we wait for the rain to pass.
Darling Harbour, Sydney 12:55 pm
We arrived at this mornings Battle for Supremacy only to be met by overcast cloud and small periods of rain. “Man a tentative rainout for one of Sydney’s best skate events”? The course set-up looked insane! From end to end, this 100-meter course features scattered wedges, dual level boxes and natural brick banks that combine with the venue in a perfect presentation. The course layout has a natural down slope, which enables skaters to keep their speed throughout the course allowing for maximum speed. Major standouts in the course set-up, a 5-meter wallride, 2 linked concrete wall barriers mounted up-top a natural bank and last but not least, the major show-stopper… a built-up wedged platform, 7-meters long constructed with 2-meter ledges on each side of staircase the size of a 10-set and an adjoined rail as you would expect.
Even with the weather being as un-cooperative as it is… we remain positive and up beat, letting everyone know that the event will GO ON!
